Thank you for your interest in studying the Bible. We hope you have completed Lesson Two and have received your grade. Any answers you may have missed on the previous lesson needs to be studied again to make sure you understand fully the question and the corrected answer. Study this third lesson just as you did the two previous and look up all Bible verses that are referred to in order to answer the questions at the end of the lesson. As in the previous lessons, the answers are to be typed into the spaces provided. After you are finished with the answers, please type your correct e-mail address. We cannot emphasize how important it is for you to type your e-mail address correctly in order that we might be able to receive your answers and return your grade for each lesson you submit. We trust you will continue this course until you have finished all seven lessons. Again, thank you for your interest in studying the Bible.

JESUS CORRECTS MISCONCEPTIONS
"Take heed and beware of covetousness, for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses."
(Luke 12:15)
"Woe to you who are full! For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now! For you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets."
(Luke 6:25,26)
JESUS ROOTS OUT THE PROBLEM
"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man."
(Mark 7:21-23)
"For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile; let him turn away from evil and do good: let him seek peace and pursue it."
(1 Peter 3:10-11)
"...sin is lawlessness."
(1 John 3:4)
"Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: Who committed no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth."
(1 Peter 2:21-22)
JESUS TEACHES US TO SEEK NEW GOALS
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven."
(Matthew 6:19-20)
"It is more blessed to give than to receive."(Acts 20:35)
"Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant,...just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve."
(Matthew 20:26,28)
JESUS GIVES WHAT WE DO NOT EXPECT!
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or, 'What shall we drink?' or, 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:31-33)
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom."
(Luke 6:38)
"For whoever exalts himself will be abased, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
(Luke 14:11)
